Beyond the Missouri Sky

Beyond the Missouri Sky (Short Stories) is a jazz album by bassist Charlie Haden and guitarist Pat Metheny that won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Instrumental Performance.

Keith Jarret

Tender is the night on what is, perhaps, Keith Jarrett's most intimate album. It is comprised of solo piano renderings of jazz ballads and folk songs, recorded at home and played with unmistakable affection. Jarrett dispenses with the jazz soloist's conventional emphasis on dexterity, the 'clever' phrase, the virtuosic sleight-of-hand. Instead he strips these songs to their melodic essence and, gently, lays bare their emotional core.

Mile Davis, Kind of Blue has been regarded by many critics as the greatest jazz record, Davis's masterpiece, and one of the best albums of all time. Its influence on music, including jazz, rock, and classical genres, has led writers to also deem it one of the most influential albums ever recorded. The album was one of fifty recordings chosen in 2002 by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry, and in 2003 it was ranked number 12 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

跟 Bill Evans的 Conversation With Myself,
Recording with Glenn Gould's piano, CD 318, at studio sessions on February 6 and 9, and May 20, 1963, Evans used the then controversial method of overdubbing three different yet corresponding piano tracks for each song. The album features mostly traditional pop standards. Alongside these are three compositions by Thelonious Monk, and one Evans original, "N.Y.C.'s No Lark", commemorating Evans' friend and fellow jazz pianist Sonny Clark, who died one month before Evans began work on the album.
